1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Orbit, a product of Startuphouze ("Orbit", "we", "us") — our mobile app and web app at this domain (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
2. Who can use Orbit
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Orbit. By registering, you confirm the information you provide is accurate, and that you're not barred from using the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction.
3. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
- One person, one account — don't create multiple accounts to misrepresent your identity or evade a suspension.
- Tell us immediately at support@startuphouze.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Verification badges (identity, DigiLocker, professional) reflect that we checked what you submitted at that point in time — they're not a guarantee or endorsement of a person, startup, or investment opportunity.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post — profile information, pitch decks and videos, posts, comments, messages, and any files you upload ("Your Content"). By posting it, you grant Orbit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, showing your pitch to a matched investor, or your job listing to applicants.
You're responsible for Your Content. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, anything that infringes someone else's intellectual property, or anything false or misleading — particularly in an Investor Snapshot, where inaccurate financials or traction claims can mislead a real investment decision.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
- Post false, fraudulent, or intentionally misleading startup, financial, or verification information.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through messages, comments, or any other feature.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service without our written permission.
- Attempt to access another user's account, or probe, scan, or test the Service's security.
- Use the Service to solicit investment in violation of applicable securities law.
- Upload malware, or content that's unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone's rights.
- Use automated means (bots, scripts) to create accounts or interact with the Service at scale.
6. Investment-related content isn't advice
Orbit is a discovery and matching platform — we are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or a party to any transaction between founders and investors. Pitch content, Investor Snapshots, and traction data are provided by the founders who created them; Orbit does not verify their accuracy and is not responsible for investment decisions made based on them. Anything you see on Orbit is not financial, legal, or investment advice — do your own diligence.
7. Jobs and applications
Job listings are created by the founders and startups who post them; Orbit doesn't verify employment terms, compensation, or a listing's legitimacy. We're a connection point between job seekers and startups, not a party to any resulting employment relationship or its terms.
8. Our intellectual property
The Orbit name, logo, and the Service itself (excluding Your Content) are owned by Startuphouze. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service, or use our branding without written permission.
9. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, submit fraudulent verification or financial information, or where we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to other users or the Service. Where practical, we'll tell you why.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any match, pitch, or listing will lead to a particular outcome — a funding round, a hire, or a mentorship relationship.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orbit and Startuphouze won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including decisions made based on content posted by other users. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (currently $0, as Orbit does not charge for access).
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
